Informed Parents of California, through our website informedparents.org, has become a statewide resource to inform parents on critical issues that impact our children's educational well-being, and the role of parents in education. You'll notice we cover plenty of topics (including curriculum e.g. AB 329/California Healthy Youth Act; legislation; legal challenges; cultural concerns; incursions of the nanny-state; parental rights; student survey, testing and other state-sponsored data collection schemes; violations of Constitutionally-protected freedoms, social-emotional learning SEL; school choice and more).

An affiliate of the National Association of Scholars, it is composed of professors, graduate students, college administrators and trustees, and independent scholars committed to rational discourse as the foundation of academic life in a free and democratic society.

WHAT ARE THEY LEARNING?

A growing number of parents, who had previously assumed that their schools will follow the best interests of their children, are now having doubts. Some are becoming actively involved in the debate over what should be taught in K-12 classrooms. The last few months have seen a remarkable springing up of small, disconnected groups and organizations attempting to give voice to these parents, and some sympathetic educators who stand with them. This genuine grass roots movement across the country is almost unprecedented. There is a proliferation of internet activity. One website, of many examples, is here.
